As Christians we want to discover the will of God. We want to do what is right, but how
can we do what is right unless we first know what is right.
Knowing the will of God is the cornerstone to all of life’s important decisions

We want to go right to the answer. We want to know
who to marry, where to work, how to invest or what to decide.
But we must start at the beginning by answering a simple but very important question.
That question is do you believe that God is good? If we get the answer to that question
right, then all the rest of the process relating to discovering God’s will begins to fall into place.

Our answer will shape our entire approach to discovering and doing God’s will in our lives.
If God is not good,we have no hope. If God is not good, we are on our own. If God is not good,
evil is the ultimate victor. The best way in discovering God’s will is to believe that God is
good and that he desires good in our lives. If we can truly believe in the goodness of God
for our lives, everything else begins to fall into place.

If God loved us enough to give his Son, God loves us enough for anything else.
I John 4:16 says, “We know and rely on the love that God has for us. God is love.”
As Christians, we want to know God’s will for our lives. As Christians, we assume, we
believe, we are convinced, we completely trust and we rely on the love that God has for us.

God always seeks our good. God always understands what we are facing.God always desires the best options from which we may choose. There are days when this is difficult for me
to believe. Those are the days when I’m stressed, when it seems as if everything is going
wrong, when I’m scared. I can wonder if God wants the best for me.

We need to believe first of all, and most of all, that God wants the best for us. We admit that we don’t understand how that works. It is a matter of faith. As Christians we believe that the
Bible is telling us the truth in Philippians 2:13 when it says, “It is God who works in you to will
and to act according to his good purpose.”This is the same truth when we are seeking
God’s will for present and future decisions

God always, always wants the best for us. When seeking God’s will on the college to
attend, the person to date, the investment to make, the career to follow, the house to buy,
the path to pursue always begin with the assumption that God is on your side and directing
directing you to his very best. “It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good
purpose.”

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper
you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”

Whatever the decisions are that you are now facing, do you believe that God is good? Do
you believe that God loves you? Do you believe that God wants the best for you? Do you
truly believe that God has plans for you, plans to give you hope and a future?

1. Be confident. Her breezy tone and go-for-it attitude were part of what endeared her to us, but that also gave us the courage to try new things we never would have attempted before.

2. Perfection is overrated. She was the original person who said to us, "hey, mistakes happen." Perfection--well, "mastering"--was always the goal, but if you didn't get there exactly, no worries. As long as it tasted good, that was what really mattered.

3. You're never too old to learn. Julia always said that she loved the food world because she learned something new every day. But what she really did by her learning something new was to teach the rest of us in return. This is only part of her legacy: Curiosity sparks creativity and invention.

What God Finds Important

Fashion and appearance reign supreme today. Advertising bombards us with ways to improve our appearance on a daily basis. Shows like “What Not to Wear” and “The Biggest Loser” show people changing the way they look for big ratings. People are being told they are not good looking enough

God doesn't focus on our outward appearance. It is what's on the inside that matters most to Him. The Bible tells us that God's focus is on developing our inner beauty so that it can be reflected in everything we do and what we are.

1 Samuel 16:7 - "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (NIV)

The Bible tells us that it is important to present ourselves as nicely as possible, but God does not call us to go to extremes. It is important that we remain aware of why we do the things we do to look good. Ask yourself two questions:

  • Does your focus on your appearance take your eyes off the Lord?
  • Are you more focused on your weight, clothes, or makeup than you are on God?

If you answered, "Yes," to either of the questions then you may need to take a closer look at your priorities. The Bible tells us to look closer at our hearts and actions rather than our presentation and appearance.

Colossians 3:17 - "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Proverbs 31:30 - "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

worry doesn't accomplish anything. Psalm 37:8,

There's no need to worry, God has everything under control. Matthew 6:31-33

We cannot stop worrying until we replace it with something better - prayer. Philippians 4:6-7

"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."

Worrying is a waste of time. Luke 12:25-26, TLB.
"And besides, what's the use of worrying? What good does it do? Will it add a single day to your life? Of course not! And if worry can't even do such little things as that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things?" Give all your worries to the Lord. , I Peter 5:7, TLB. "Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

Learning to not worry and learning to not be anxious takes time and a lot of work. It is very easy to fall into the habit of fretting over every little thing in one's life (I know because it has happened to me)

Think about it this way: Christians who worry believe God can redeem them, break the shackles of Satan, take them from hell to heaven, put them into His kingdom, and give them eternal life, but just don’t think He can get them through the next couple of days. That is pretty ridiculous, isn’t it

Proverbs 12:25
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.
